NEW BRITAIN, CONN. - The Monmouth University women's soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision at Central Connecticut State in Northeast Conference action on Sunday afternoon, at Arute Field. With the loss, the Hawks fall to 7-5-1 overall, and now stand 2-2-1 in league play.
CCSU (6-7-1, 2-2-1 NEC) got on the scoreboard first in the 38th minute, when Jewel Robinson connected on her first score of the season, off a direct kick just outside the box, following a Monmouth foul.
The Blue Devils held the 1-0 lead until the 90th minute, when Beth Lloyd notched her eleventh goal of the year, off a feed from Kerriann Welch, with less than a minute remaining, for the 2-0 final.
Monmouth, which was shutout for just the third time this season, was outshot 10-4 in the match, but held a 6-5 edge in corner kick chances.

Lia Fierro made three saves in net for the Hawks, while her counterpart, Nikola Deiter made two stops for the Blue Devils, one each on

Ali Kliment.
Monmouth returns to action on Friday, October 15, when the Hawks host Fairleigh Dickinson in a Northeast Conference match, on The Great Lawn, at 3:00 p.m.
