WOMEN'S TENNIS SUFFERS 7-0 SETBACK TO FAIRLEIGH DICKINSON

OCEAN, N.J.- Monmouth University's women's tennis team suffered its first defeat in four matches, losing to Northeast Conference rival Fairleigh Dickinson on Wednesday evening.

Reigning NEC rookie of the week Dana Ferrari (Saddlebrook, N.J./Immaculate Heart Academy) fell for the first time in six individual matches, losing the fourth singles matchup 6-1, 6-3 to FDU's Egzona Morina.  Junior Katie Tierney (Berkeley Heights, N.J./Governor Livingston) lost to Julia Pranti by a 6-2, 6-1 margin at the third singles spot.  The Knights also won all three doubles matches. 

Monmouth is now 3-3 overall on the young season and 0-2 in conference play.

The Hawks will look to bounce back on Saturday when they face the newest NEC member, Bryant University in Smithfield, R.I. at 10 a.m.
