PHILADELPHIA- Monmouth University's women's tennis team dropped its fourth straight match, losing 5-2 to Drexel University on Tuesday afternoon.
Senior Diane Washer (Ogdensburg, N.J./Wallkill Valley Regional) earned a win at the No. 5 spot, besting Dragon Melissa Bohm 6-4, 4-6, 10-3. Sophomore Britney Dupuis (Freehold, N.J./Colts Neck) earned Monmouth's other point in a forfeited match victory. Freshman Dana Ferrari (Saddlebrook, N.J./Immaculate Heart Academy) fell behind 6-1 in her first set, then battled back to win the second 6-3. In a tough tie-breaker, Elise Leizerovich edged Ferrari 7-6 to get the fourth flight point.
The Dragons swept the doubles matches, earning the team point.
The team wraps up the fall schedule with a Northeast Conference match against Saint Francis (Pa.) at Fireman's Field on Thursday.
