KINGSTON, R.I.- Monmouth University's women's
tennis team fell 7-0 to the University of Rhode Island on Sunday afternoon in
Kingston.
The Hawks were able to get wins in just 10 of 111 games, with senior Diane Washer (Ogdensville, N.J./Wallkill Valley Regional) coming the closest to
victory with a 6-3, 6-1 loss at the No. 5 spot.
Washer teamed with sophomore Jessica Slinger (Tinton Falls,
N.J./Monmouth Regional) in the No. 2 doubles slot, but fell to URI's Christen
Cadigan and Brooke Hoover by a 8-3 margin.
The Rams swept all six singles and all three doubles spots.
Monmouth looks to get back to the success it found a few weeks ago on Tuesday
when the squad travels to Philadelphia to face Drexel at 3:30 p.m.
