OCEAN, N.J. ? Monmouth women's tennis ended their fall season with a 7-0 loss to non-conference Drexel on a chilly Monday afternoon at Firemen's Field in Ocean, N.J. The Hawks end the fall season with a 3-10 overall record including a 3-2 record against Northeast Conference opponents. The Dragons came into Ocean with an 4-0 record and finish their fall season undefeated at 5-0.

The closest match of the afternoon came at fourth singles when freshman Jessica Slinger (Tinton Falls, N.J./Monmouth Regional) fell to Drexel's Elise Leizerovich, 6-4, 6-0.

Despite the loss, the Hawks have a lot to build off of going into the spring season. The Hawks have a combined 47 singles wins in the fall including a 9-4 record at sixth singles.

Slinger leads the Hawks with a 7-8 overall singles record and a 5-8 doubles record. Following just behind Slinger, fellow classmate Britney Dupuis (Freehold, N.J./Colts Neck) will take a 6-8 singles record into the spring. Sophomore Kelly Friedrich (Brick, N.J./Brick Memorial) also has six singles wins during the fall.

The Hawks took 13 doubles wins during dual matches in the fall season. Leading the Hawks in doubles points was the first doubles team of Kaitlin Gallagher (North Haledon, N.J./Immaculate Heart Academy) and Sarah Ragan (Lanoka Harbor, N.J./Lacey Township) with three wins.

Monmouth will also be returning former NEC player of the week, Diane Washer (Ogdensburg, N.J./Wallkill Valley Regional) who was undefeated during the fall season with a 5-0 record, including a D Flight win at the NJAIAW Tournament on October 11th and 12th.
