HAWKS SETTLE FOR SCORELESS TIE AT TEMPLE IN WOMEN'S SOCCER ACTION

AMBLER, Pa. - The Monmouth University women's soccer team battled to a 0-0 draw at Temple on Sunday afternoon. The tie puts the Hawks' overall record at 2-2-3, while Temple now stands at 4-2-2 on the season. Monmouth has now played to draws in three of its last four matches.

Monmouth held a 12-6 advantage in shots, forcing Temple goalkeeper Kara Williams  to make seven saves, including two critical stops in the overtime periods. Williams, who made a game-saving stop on an Amy Hoyer 25-yard shot in the 95th minute, also robbed freshman Kim Malecki in the extra session.

The Owls generated a scoring chance in the 102nd minute, but Jenna Rankin's shot hit off the crossbar.

Monmouth freshman goalkeeper Lia Fierro made four saves in goal for the Hawks, earning her third tie of the year.

The Hawks return to action on Wednesday, when they travel to Lafayette for their final non-conference road game of the season, at 7:00 p.m., in Easton, Pennsylvania.
