MONMOUTH ALUM CHRISTIE RAMPONE COMPETES IN THIRD WORLD CUP

WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. - Monmouth University alum and former two-sport star, Christie Rampone is currently competing for the U.S. National Women's Soccer Team in Chengdu, China. Rampone, who has been with the National Team since 1997, is the second most capped player in U.S. Women's Soccer history.

Rampone, a two-time Northeast Conference Player of the Year (1995, 1996), led Monmouth to two NEC Championships, while holding all of MU's offensive records on the pitch. The two-time Olympian holds the career scoring record with 79 goals, 54 assists and 212 points. She also still maintains the single-season marks of 29 goals, 17 assists and 75 points.

Rampone, along with five other Monmouth greats, will be inducted into the Monmouth Athletics Hall of Fame this fall.
