TEANECK, N.J. - The Monmouth University women's tennis team dropped a 5-2 decision to Northeast Conference opponent Fairleigh Dickinson on Monday afternoon. The Hawks fall to 3-10 on the season with the loss.
MU was led by Krista McCormick (Wenonah, N.J./Gateway) at fifth singles as she defeated Tricia Small in three sets 3-6, 6-2 and 10-4. Freshman Diane Washer (Ogdensburg, N.J./Wallkill Valley) was a straight set winner 6-2, 6-0 over Stacey Honore at sixth singles as well for the Blue and White.
Washer then teamed with Laura Giuliari (Hamilton, N.J./Steinert) to defeat the team of Small/Honore at third doubles, 8-3. The Hawks return to action on Wednesday, April 4 when they take on Long Island.
