ALLIE WILSON BREAKS SCHOOL RECORD AT BU

NEW YORK, NY/BOSTON, MA – Senior Allie Wilson shattered the school record in the 3000 meter run Sunday at the Boston University Last Chance meet. Dylan Capwell ran a 1:47.86 in the 800 meters at Boston University to currently hold a qualifying time for the NCAA Indoor Championships in the event. A number of athletes also competed at the NYC Armory Last Chance meet Friday night at the New York Armory.

  • "Our foursome today in Boston all did an excellent job, and we also had a few very nice performances on Friday in New York," said head coach Joe Compagni. "We are looking forward to ECAC/IC4As next weekend and of course also hoping Dylan did enough to get a spot of NCAA's again this year."
BOSTON UNIVERSITY LAST CHANCE
  • Capwell was the top collegian finisher in the 800 meters and will find out tomorrow if his time is good enough to qualify for the NCAA Championships. He currently has the 13th best time in the country and will qualify if he remains in the top 16.
  • Wilson's time of 9:37.59 in the 3K broke the school record by more than 15 seconds.
  • Chris Marco ran a 4:03.51 in the mile, which is the second best time in school history.
  • Freshman Amanda Dwyer finished second in the 1000 meters by finishing in 2:56.09 which was just .15 seconds below the ECAC qualifying time of 2:56.24.
NYC ARMORY LAST CHANCE
  • Tim Wilson won the weight throw with a mark of 66'7". This mark is the second best in school history, which gives Wilson the top five marks in the event.
  • Junior Ashley McKinnon won the long jump with an ECAC qualifying jump of 18'11" while teammate Patrice Baston finished third with a mark of 18'4".
  • Casey Sturts and Megan Gambuti finished 1-2 in the pole vault with marks of 12'6" and 11'6.75".
  • Emily Schroepfer placed third in the 60-meter dash in 7.99 seconds.
  • Dana Lynch won the 60-meter hurdles by finishing in 8.97 seconds.
  • Frank Conforti placed second in the 500 meters by finishing in 1:07.44.
  • Corey Murphy finished second and as the top collegian in the shot put with a throw of 17.69 meters.
NEXT UP
  • The Hawks will head back to Boston for the ECAC/IC4A Championships. The men finished 12th at the meet last season while the women finished third out of 86 teams.
