Kristin Spohn, a 2001 graduate of Monmouth University, enters her third season as an assistant women?s soccer coach for the Hawks.
Spohn, a four-year player for the Blue and White from 1997-2000, was a two-year starter for the Hawks in the goal. In her first season as a starter, Spohn dazzled all by earning All-Northeast Conference honors, while posting a 0.72 goals against average, and leading the NEC in saves (90), save percentage (.874) and shutouts (8.5).
As a senior, Spohn led the Hawks to a 12-6-1 record, while earning her second All-NEC accolade in the goal for Monmouth. In 1999 and 2000, she was honored as the Monmouth University Student-Athlete of the Month on numerous occasions, while earning an ECAC Player of the Week honor in 2000.
Spohn?s coaching responsibilities include recruiting and working with the defensive unit and goalkeepers. She also is a state assistant goalkeeper coach for the New Jersey ODP, while also training local youth and club teams.
Spohn returned to Monmouth after one season as an assistant coach at Fairfield University in Connecticut.
Spohn currently resides in West Long Branch, N.J., and is pursuing a masters degree in educational counseling from Monmouth University.
