Matt DeSimone joined the Monmouth University Athletics Department in 2026 as Associate Athletic Director for Facilities, Operations and Capital Planning following nearly five years at the University of South Florida.
Prior to arriving in West Long Branch, DeSimone served as Director of Facility Operations at South Florida, a position he was promoted to in November 2024. In that role, he oversaw facility operations for the Bulls' men's and women's soccer, men's and women's golf, women's lacrosse, and men's and women's cross country and track and field programs. He also founded the USF Athletic Facilities Internship Program, providing students with hands-on experience in collegiate athletic facility operations and event management.
DeSimone began his full-time career at South Florida in November 2021 as Assistant Director of Facilities, serving in that capacity for three years before earning his promotion to Director of Facility Operations.
Before joining the Bulls' staff full-time, DeSimone served as an Event Management Intern at South Florida from December 2020 through May 2021. During his internship, he was the event management lead for the men's and women's tennis programs, assisting with the coordination and execution of home athletic events.
DeSimone earned his bachelor's degree in Sport Management from the University of Tampa in 2021.
