Newman begins her first season on the Hawks coaching staff as an assistant coach ahead of the 2026-27 season.
Newman previously was the assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for the University of Evansville women’s basketball program from 2024 to 2026. After a year with the program, she was promoted to recruiting coordinator in September of 2025. She was responsible for all aspects of recruiting for the program including high school, JUCO and transfer student-athletes.
She also spent time at MADE Hoops as the organization’s Event and Operations Coordinator, marketing MADE Hoops Midwest Girls Academy to elite players across the country while also recruiting players and families to secure camp commits.
Newman starred for the University of Evansville Women’s Basketball program from 2018 to 2023. She was a five-year starter for the Purple Aces, captaining the team for four seasons while finishing fourth all-time in career assists (429) and seventh all-time in free throws made.
Newman graduated from the University of Evansville with a Master of Science in Leadership in 2023 after earning her Bachelor of Science in Sports Communication from the University in 2022.
