Stephanie Pegues joined the Monmouth Swimming Coaching Staff in December 2021. She is the Director of Aquatics and Assistant Coach for the men's and women's swimming teams.
Pegues returned to the Jersey Shore following a five-year stint at Burnet High School in Texas where she led the high school and middle school programs with more than 50 student-athletes. Pegues' athletes advanced to the state level, earned scholastic awards and earned six coach of the year awards across swimming and diving. In addition to her coaching responsibilities, Pegues taught science classes in physics and chemistry within the school district. Outside of school, Pegues served as an assistant coach with Tex's Waves Swim Club.
Locally, Pegues worked at Middlesex County Vocational & Technical Schools from 2006-2017 where she taught Physical Education and coached cross country at the East Brunswick campus. She coached Monmouth Barracudas Swim Club for nearly 10 years and has experience as a swim coach and lifeguard at Seabright Beach Club, Tradewinds Beach Club, Middletown HS North and Hazlet Swim and Tennis Club.
Pegues attended William Patterson University where she was a member of the swim team and graduated with a Bachelor of Science, Teaching Certification in Physical Education & Health K-12th Grade, and Driver Education degree in 2005.
