Scott Ridley was the first head coach of the Monmouth women's soccer program, a position he held for eight seasons. Under Ridley, the Hawks compiled a 90-62-11 record, including back-to-back 15-win seasons in 1987 and 1988. In the 1988 season, the Hawks held a national top-20 ranking for seven weeks and Ridley was named the Northeast Region Coach of the Year.
