Sarah Masterson is in her third season as an assistant coach with Monmouth’s women’s lacrosse team. Masterson will work primarily with the MU defense this season while also serving as the team’s recruiting coordinator.

In her first season with the Hawks, Masterson guided Hawk midfielders Ashley Waldman, Ali Pollock, Rachel Feirstein and Megan Nutter to All-Northeast Conference honors. In 2008, Monmouth’s offensive output was the second highest in school history, scoring 242 goals.

She will also serve as the co-director of Monmouth’s lacrosse camps and clinics. In that role, Masterson will coordinate registration and marketing efforts while teaching fundamentals and techniques of lacrosse.

Masterson, a Sea Girt native, graduated from Fairfield University in 2007 with a degree in English. The midfielder captained the Stags as a junior and senior earning Second Team All-Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference honors in both seasons. The two-time Fairfield Women’s Lacrosse Scholar Athlete Award winner (2005 & 2006) was also named to the MAAC All-Academic team for three straight years. Masterson also participated in the 2006 International Friendship Games in Japan.

Materson recently earned her master’s degree in communications at Monmouth University.
