Cristina Curiale begins her second season as part of Coach McCardell’s staff.

Working with the goaltenders primarily, Curiale also helps out with Monmouth’s potent attackers.

Last season under Curiale’s direction Hawk goaltender Monica Johnson earned All-Northeast Conference honors as a freshman. Starting in all 20 games, Johnson’s .525 save percentage was first in the NEC and seventh among all Division I netminders. Curiale also worked with the MU attackers, three of which earned

Curiale arrived at Monmouth after spending the 2005 season as an assistant coach at The Pingry School in Martinsville, New Jersey. While at The Pingry School, she was responsible for the coordination of practices, the compilation of scouting reports and the development of game strategies. This summer she also completed her third year as serving as a head coach for the New Jersey All-Stars Under-13 and Under-15 girls’ lacrosse teams at the US Lacrosse Youth Festival.

Curiale enjoyed a four-year playing career at Rutgers University. She served as a team co-captain and garnered Big East Academic All-Star status as a senior in 2004. She ranked fourth on the squad in scoring with 11 goals and six assists for 17 points in her final season. Curiale was tabbed Rutgers Offensive Player of the Year and earned second-team All-Big East recognition in 2003. That season, she led the team and finished eighth in the conference in scoring with 37 points. Curiale’s 26 assists in 2003 was two shy of a Rutgers’ single-season school record. She led Rutgers in scoring as a sophomore in 2002 with 19 goals and seven assists in 16 games. After redshirting in 2000, she scored five goals and five assists in 14 games as a freshman in 2001.

Curiale was a New Jersey lacrosse high school standout at Summit High School. She was a two-time High School All-America honorable mention in 1998 and 1999 and helped the Hilltoppers earn recognition as the No. 2 team in the nation as named by US Lacrosse in 1999.

The 2004 graduate of Rutgers has been active on lacrosse camp circuit, including working for Metro Lacrosse Club.
