Brooke Young enters her first season as Denise Wescott's top assistant.

The West Chester, Pa., native will be responsible for working with MU's attack unit as well as recruit potential student-athletes, set up official visits, coordinate tape exchange and Monmouth camps and clinics.

Young comes to West Long Branch from Franklin and Marshall College where she spent the last three seasons as the top assistant coach.  In 2009, Young helped coach the NCAA Division III Champion Diplomats, while F&M were NCAA runners-up in 2008 and Final Four participants in 2010.  The Diplomats compiled an astonishing 56-7 record while Young was an assistant coach.

After graduation Young served as an assistant high school coach in the talent rich region of Eastern Pennsylvania at Downington East High School.  During that time she also was the women's lacrosse director at the United Sports Training Center where she ran major lacrosse tournaments in addition to leagues and camps.

Young was a four-year attacker for the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  While a member of the nationally-ranked Tar Heels,  Young captured the ACC title in 2002 en route to a NCAA Final Four appearance.  Young was also invited to try out for the U.S. National team that same season.  She was also involved in the UNC student-athlete community where Young was a mentor in the Athletes Coming Together (ACT) program.  Young was a First Team All-America as a senior at B. Reed Henderson High School in West Chester, Pa.
