Monmouth University women’s golf head coach Susan DeKalb welcomes back Lee Steffens-Hunter to her staff as a volunteer assistant coach once again in 2015-16. Steffens-Hunter, who also assisted in 2013-14 during DeKalb's first year with the program, is a teacher of the game of golf for over 25 years, and will assist in player development during practice and competition.
“I am ecstatic that Lee is a part of my coaching staff”, stated DeKalb. “She will bring her wealth of experience and knowledge to help our golfers succeed.”
A golf professional since 1985, Steffens-Hunter has assisted with different programs around New Jersey to educate the fundamentals of golf including the First Tee Program as well as the Renaissance Golf Program in Newark. Steffens-Hunter owned and operated the first indoor golf studio, while also assisting the PGA with inner-city instruction.
A celebrated golfer herself, Steffens-Hunter was named club champion at the highly regarded Baltusrol Golf Club in Springfield, N.J., earned the W.M.G.A Match and Stroke Play Championships and qualified for three USGA Amateurs and one U.S. Open. She was part of the Futures Mini Tour, while being added to the National LPGA Tour Site.
Steffens-Hunter resides in Berkley Heights, NJ
