A former team captain, Balady was a driving force behind last season?s 9-10 campaign and Northeast Conference Tournament berth. Balady led Monmouth in scoring from the midfield, recording 14 points on four goals and a school-record tying six assists. The effort resulted in her fourth consecutive first-team All-NEC citation. She is the only player in the history of the Northeast Conference to earn first-team all-league field hockey honors in all four years of action. On the season, Balady recorded a pair of walk-off game-winning goals, including one in overtime against West Chester and one in extended regulation play against Lehigh.
Additionally, Balady became just the second Hawk to be named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association All-Mid-Atlantic Region recognition as she was tabbed to the second team in 2005.
Balady played in 71 games for the Blue and White between 2001-2005, making 69 starts. Her 13 career assists rank first on the school?s all-time list and her 23 points place her seventh.
Balady graduated from Monmouth in May 2005 with a bachelor?s in special education. She is currently teaching in the Ocean Township public school district.
