2018-19 (R-Junior): Played in 35 games, starting 15… Finished second on the Hawks with 80 assists…. Led MU with 61 steals… Top rebounder among MU guards with 4.6 per game… Had nine points, seven assists, five steals against West Virginia (11/15)… Went for nine points, eight boards vs. Princeton (11/24)… First double-digit game as a Hawk came at Quinnipiac with 10 points (1/10)… Added six assists and eight boards vs. Fairfield (1/17)… Scored 10 points at Rider (2/15)… Added 11 points in MAAC quarterfinal win over Quinnipiac (3/9).
2017-18 (Junior): Sat out season due to NCAA transfer regulations.
BEFORE MONMOUTH: Rutherford spent the past two seasons at Florida Atlantic, starting all 63 games he played in over two seasons at guard. He netted nine points per contest as a sophomore, third highest on the team, while leading the Owls in assists with 129 and steals with 39. Rutherford also played more minutes than anyone on the team, and was the third highest rebounder despite playing point guard. As a freshman, he netted 7.2 points per contest and led FAU with 117 assists while his 49 steals topped the team. Rutherford’s 49 steals in 2015-16 were the most for an Owl in 11 seasons dating back to the 2004-05 campaign. Rutherford also succeeded in the classroom at Florida Atlantic, earning Conference USA Commissioner’s Honor Roll both years he spent in Boca Raton.
HIGH SCHOOL: Competed scholastically at Allen High School in Allen, TX... Averaged 14 points per game in six game state tournament run as a junior.
PERSONAL: Major is business management.
