Monmouth University Athletics

Mike Sparta joined the Monmouth University women's rowing coaching staff as a graduate assistant prior to the 2023-24 season and continues to help the Hawks make strides in the CAA.
 
While Sparta has been with the Hawks, there have been four Hawks that earned All-CAA honors and three have been named to the FSN Watch List.

Sparta brought over ten years of rowing coaching experience to the program, including the past eight as an assistant rowing coach at Christian Brothers Academy and Monmouth Junior Rowing Club. Prior to that, Sparta served as the head rowing coach of Syracuse Chargers Rowing Club from 2012-14. 

Sparta is a native of Red Bank, NJ and is a 2014 graduate of Syracuse where he earned a degree in Chemical Engineering and competed as a member of the men's rowing program.
