Dan Murphy

Murphy joined the men's basketball staff prior to the 2018-19 season as the Special Assistant to the Head Coach.

Prior to his time at Monmouth, Murphy served as the boys varsity basketball assistant coach at Marist High School for one season. He served the same position for four seasons before that at St. Anthony High School under Hall of Fame Coach Bob Hurley Sr., including coaching the undefeated 2016 squad that went 32-0 and rose as high as #3/4 in the country. Murphy helped coach that group to a state title and Tournament of Champions win while managing scouting and game preparation, film, statistics and more.

Murphy played four seasons at Roosevelt/Yonkers High School before playing two years at the University of Connecticut-Avery Point. He graduated from UConn in 2006 before earning a masters of science from the University of New Haven in 2007.
