Biography

Will handle punt duties for the third consecutive year... Ranks third all-time in career punting average at Monmouth.

2009 (Senior): Punted in all 11 of Monmouth's games... Had 49 punts for 1,875 yards on the season... Daniel's average of 38.3 yards was third in the NEC... His 1,875 yards was the third most among the conference's nine punters... Finished the season with six punts of 50+ yards and 11 of his 49 total punts downed inside the 20 yard line... Had four punts for 192 yards (48 yard average) with a long of 60 yards against Albany (10/24)... Registered six punts for 248 yards (41.3 avg) with a long of 58 against Duquesne (9/19).

2008 (Junior):
Started in all 11 games for the Hawks at punter… Punted 37 times for 1,426 yards for a 38.5 average… Had 20 punts land inside the opponent’s 20 yard line, including two against Bryant (9/20) and Wagner (10/11)… Had six punts fair caught, including two against Albany (11/1)… Recorded his career-long punt of 59 yards against Maine (9/6).

2007 (Sophomore): Appeared in every game as a punter for the Hawks... Punted 51 times for 1,746 yards for a 34.2 average... Had 14 punts land inside the opponent’s 20 yard line, including four against Albany (11/10)... Had 12 punts fair caught, including three against Wagner (10/13) and Albany (11/10)... Recorded a career-long punt of 49 yards against Stony Brook (9/22)... Also handled the kickoff duties for the majority of the season, averaging 52.4 yards per kickoff... Had a season long of 61 yards for a touchdback against Wagner (10/13)... Averaged 58.3 yards per kickoff against Sacred Heart (10/6).

2006 (Freshman): Did not see action as a freshman.

High School: Played four years of football under Coach Greg Toal... Earned All-League honors as a wide receiver and punter for the Iron Men... Don Bosco was 45-3 in the four seasons he was there... Helped the Iron men to four-consecutive NNJIL League Championships and two NJ State Championships... Also played two years of baseball.

Personal: Born John J. Daniels on June 12, 1988... Son of Jack and Connie Daniels ... Major is communications.
