Terence Archer spent six seasons on the sidelines as the wide receivers coach at Monmouth University. Archer coached at Monmouth from 2008 through 2013.

The MU alum has mentored some of the best receiving talent to come through West Long Branch. In just two seasons, Second Team All-Northeast Conference selection Tristan Roberts finished his career fifth all-time in reception yardage and seventh in receptions. Roberts had a breakout year as a senior, catching 55 passes for 714 yards and five touchdowns. When it was all said and done, the Monmouth wide receiving corps accounted for 14 touchdowns and almost 1,900 all purpose yards in 2012.

In 2011, Sterling was named Northeast Conference Offensive Rookie of the Year after leading the Hawks with 57 receptions, which is the third most in a single season in MU history. Sterling, a Second Team All-NEC selection., was also a Jerry Rice Award Finalist after finishing second among all FCS freshmen with 677 receiving yards. Five different Monmouth wideouts finished with career-highs in receptions and or yardage in 2011.

Future NFL wide receiver Chris Hogan played his only season of football under Archer in 2010, where he split time between wideout and cornerback for the Hawks. Hogan, who played four seasons of Division I lacrosse at Penn State, transferred to Monmouth to expend his eligibility. In limited action at WR, Hogan caught 12 passes for 147 yards and three touchdowns, including one on his first collegiate catch against Colgate.

Archer played for the Blue & White from 1997-2000, graduating from Monmouth in 2001.  Before returning to Monmouth, Archer served as recruiting coordinator at LaSalle University from 2005-07.  He began coaching at the Philadelphia, Pa., school in 2005 where he was responsible for the Explorer running back corps.

In his previous position he coached the linebackers and served as special teams coordinator.  From 2002-05 the Abington, Pa., native served as League Operations Coordinator for the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball.
