Cornell Key, a 2001 graduate of Monmouth, is in his first year as a mentor in the Personnel and Leadership Services (PALS) program.
Key served as an assistant coach at Monmouth from 2001-03 after completing a stellar four-year playing career. After his coaching stint, Key, who completed the Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF) program while at Monmouth, served as an EOF Undergraduate Counselor for two years.
Key earned All-Northeast Conference honors on three occasions. As a senior, he was named a Division I-AA Mid-Major All-America by both Don Hansen?s National Football Gazette and became one of only seven Monmouth players to ever earn All-ECAC accolades. He was a two-year captain and three-year starter for the Blue and White.
Key ranks fifth on Monmouth?s all-time sacks list with 15.5, including a career-high tally of 10.5 as a senior.
Key, who earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice in 2001, currently serves as a Personal Trainer at TEST Sports Clubs.
