Chris Raitano

Chris Raitano returned to the Monmouth University coaching staff in February of 2024. The 2024 season will be Raitano's fifth on Kevin Callahan's staff and first as linebackers coach. Previously, Raitano spent four seasons on the sidelines at Monmouth, including three as the defensive line coach and video coordinator from 2016 through 2018. Raitano spent the 2015 season as a defensive quality control assistant with the Hawks. 

During the 2023 season, Raitano coached the defensive line at Stetson University. With the Hatters, Raitano also assited Special Teams and was responsible for recrutiing student-athletes from South Florida, Houston, Texas and the Northeast.

Raitano also coached four seasons at Rice University from 2019 through the end of the 2022 season. His first two seasons at Rice, Raitano was a graduate assistant on the defensive line before being elevated to working with outside linebackers as the defensive quality control coordinator.  Raitano assisted with special teams and recruited junior colleges along the east coast.  

The Hazlet, NJ native graduated from Monmouth in 2014. During his three seasons coaching the defensive line Raitano mentored Darnell Leslie to All-Big South honors before he spent time on NFL, XFL and AAF rosters, and Manny Maragoto a top-10 spot in the Monmouth sack record book.

In his role Raitano was responsible for coaching Monmouth's defensive line, specifically working with the interior line while coordinating all the team's video efforts. He oversaw the filming, tagging, cutting up and exchange of practice and game film as well as working on special projects including individual player cutups.

Raitano played linebacker at Raritan High School under former Monmouth assistant coach Bob Generelli. The Rockets were two-time state finalists and divisional champions in 2008, when Raitano earned All-Shore Conference honors.
