Before Monmouth: Transfered to Monmouth after one season at Elon University.

High School: Played defensive end and center for four varsity seasons under coaches Bill Carpluk and Doug Kirk at Mendham... Named All-County First Team, All-Area First Team, All-Group III Second Team, and All-State Honorable Mention during his senior year... Played in the North-South All-Star Football Classic at the end of his senior year... Compiled over 110 tackles and five sacks during his junior and senior year.
