Monica Morgan Levy

  • Title
    Head Coach
Monica Morgan Levy enters her tenth season roaming the sidelines for the Blue and White. Under her direction, the Hawks have continued their approach to the top of the Northeast Conference and the East Coast. Levy has earned recognition for her coaching exploits as she has earned NEC Coach of the Year honors twice.

Last season, Levy returned to the sidelines after a one-year hiatus as she led a young Hawks squad to four wins, with three of those wins coming within the NEC. With only four departures due to graduation, the Blue and White have a promising future.

Since the program?s inaugural year in 1997, Levy has steadily improved the quality of play. In the first season, she won four games with a squad that featured 30 freshmen. In 1998, the Hawks faced a tougher schedule and the result was a four-win season that included six losses by just one goal each. The Hawks also boasted four players on the All-Northeast Conference team, the most by any league member. Levy raised the bar once again in 1999 as her squad went 8-11 and participated in the Northeast Conference championship game, losing to Quinnipiac by a slim 1-0 margin.

In 2000, the Hawks continued to make strides under Coach Levy. She guided Monmouth to an 11-9 mark to give the Hawks their first winning record. The 11 wins also topped the league record. The success was evident in league play as the Hawks compiled a 9-1 Northeast Conference record and captured the regular season crown.

Arriving in 1996 to start building the field hockey team from the ground up, Levy also served as an assistant lacrosse coach during the 1997 and 1998 seasons.

Levy, who owns a career record of 52-90-1 overall and 36-27 in the NEC, arrived at Monmouth after spending three seasons as an assistant field hockey and lacrosse coach at the University of Delaware. She helped both squads earn national rankings during her tenure from 1993 to 1996. During her stint at the Newark, Delaware campus, Levy earned a master?s degree in American history.

Levy was a four-year starter in both field hockey and lacrosse at Lafayette College. She earned All-Patriot honors in both sports and was also named to the regional All-American team in field hockey as a senior. A 1993 graduate, she served as team captain on both squads during her career. As a sophomore, she helped guide the Leopards to an NCAA tournament appearance in lacrosse.

A native of Newark, Delaware, Levy is a graduate of the Tower Hill School. She is married to Adam Levy. They reside in Monmouth Beach with their two children, Hannah and Ben.
