2020-21 (Senior): Named to All-MAAC Second Team… Ranked seventh in MAAC in three-point percentage at 39.2… Led Hawks in three-pointers made with 47… 12.4 points per contest ranked third on the Hawks, just two points shy of second… Started all 20 games… Tied program record for made triples in a game, netting nine in season opener vs. Hofstra before finishing with 32 points (12/15)… Followed that with 17 in win over Saint Peter’s (12/18)… Scored 16 on 6-10 shooting at Siena (1/4)… Scored in double digits in seven straight from 1/15-2/19… Scored 17 including making game-winning three in overtime at Rider (3/4).
2019-20 (Junior): Played in all 31 games, starting one… Led Monmouth in free throw shooting at 88.7%, a number that placed him second in the conference… Ranked third on the Hawks at 8.5 points per game, while 49 made threes also ranked third… 62 assists were third most on MU… Netted 9.7 points per game in conference play… Did not miss a free throw from 11/26 to 2/9, a stretch of 27 in a row… Dished out career-high seven assists vs. Hofstra (11/9)… Scored 12 points on 5-9 shooting at Kansas (11/15)… Put home 11 points on 5-5 free throw shooting vs. Kennesaw State (11/22)… Finished with 10 points, five rebounds at Quinnipiac (1/12)… In win at Manhattan, posted seven points, career-high six rebounds and five assists (1/18)… Scored in double-digits at Iona (1/26)… Went for then career-high 21 points on 6-14 and 4-11 from deep in win over Rider (2/2)… Exploded for career best 32 points at Canisius, with seven made threes and 9-10 from the line (2/14)… Sparked four straight games in double figures, including in wins over Marist and Quinnipiac (2/21-23)… Made three triples in 10-point game vs. Fairfield (3/4)… Closed season with 10 points against Siena (3/6).
2018-19 (Sophomore): Saw action in 29 games… Had six points in season opener vs. Lehigh (11/6)… Went for five points and three assists in Myrtle Beach against Valparaiso (11/16)… Knocked in seven points against Yale (12/20)… Made pair of threes in eight point efforts at Iona (1/3) and Manhattan (1/12)… Hit four threes off the bench and grabbed five rebounds against Marist (2/17)… Had six points in MAAC Finals vs. Iona with pair of threes (3/11).
2017-18 (Freshman): Played in 19 games, starting one as a true freshman… Averaged 2.8 points per game and made 16 field goals, 13 of which were from downtown… Made first career triple at Seton Hall (11/12)… Scored eight points on two triples at Lehigh (11/14)… Made three from deep at UNC Asheville, accounting for all nine of his points (11/22)… Exploded for 16 points in four-overtime game vs. Penn, including two threes and a four-point play (11/25)… Netted seven points in 14 minutes vs. Hofstra (12/6).
HIGH SCHOOL: Papas is a shooting guard from Jersey City, NJ and played scholastically at Union Catholic High School before spending a prep year at Gould Academy. During his year at Gould, Papas averaged 15 points per game was named Honorable Mention All-NEPSAC. As a senior at Union Catholic, Papas averaged 13 points and more than two three-pointers made per game. In 24 contests, Papas hit a three in all but three, and scored in double figures 22 times, including a 22-point outburst on four triples against Camden Catholic.
