Biography

2012 (Sophomore): Appeared in all ten games, starting eight at running back… Moved into the top ten during his sophomore campaign in career rushing yards and touchdowns… Went for 659 yards and 11 touchdowns on the year… Was named running back of the week honorable mention by the College Football Performance Awards for the week of 10/29… Scored Monmouth’s first touchdown of the season at Lehigh (9/1)… Found the end zone two more times a week later, and also picked up a 62 yard catch-and-run in win over Rhode Island (9/8)… Broke 100 yards for the first time on the season with 103 yards and a touchdown in win at Wagner (9/15)… Ran for a career-high 158 yards on 36 carries and scored twice in helping MU beat Duquesne (10/27)… In regular season finale, carried for 143 yards, including a 51 yard run, and a pair of touchdowns at Robert Morris (11/17).

2011 (Freshman): Appeared in all 11 games, starting the final eight contests at running back as a true freshman... Named to the College Sports Journal All-Freshman Team... Was named a finalist for the Inaugural Jerry Rice Award, awarded to the nation's best freshman... Finished with 14 rushing touchdowns to lead the Hawks, which was fourth most in a single season for a Hawk back... Finished with 856 yards on 216 carries... Had a career-high 128 yards and four touchdowns in MU's win over Saint Francis (11/5)... Scored three or more touchdowns in three contests... Registered a career high 34 carries for 114 yards against Duquesne (10/29)... Caught three balls for 36 yards... Ran for three touchdowns on 32 carries for 89 yards against Bryant... Also scored three times in a win over Sacred Heart (10/22)... His 14 rushing scores was tied for the second most in the Northeast Conference.

Before Monmouth:  Played running back at The Hun Prep School in Princeton, New Jersey... Earned Star Ledger First Team All-Prep... Also named Trenton Times First Team All-Prep.

High School: Played running back and safety under coach Sean Marinan at Xavier High School in Connecticut... Helped lead the Falcons to a 9-2 record and a Southern Connecticut Conference Championship as a senior ... Amassed over 1,400 rushing yards and 23 touchdowns in 2009...  Named All-Area, All-SCC and All-State by the Hartford Courant after his senior season... Was the MVP of the Connecticut vs Rhode Island All-Star Game... Also played in the New Haven County vs Fairfield County All-Star Game... Had 1,200 yards rushing with 13 touchdowns and five interceptions as a junior.

Personal: Son of Jessica Hayes... Majoring in business management.
