Monmouth travels to Easton, Pa., for the Lafayette Classic (Nov. 28-30), where the Hawks will face Ball State, Le Moyne and Lafayette.
Freshman Stefanos Spartalis knocked down two free throws with 8.6 seconds left in overtime to lift Monmouth to a 71-70 win over Robert Morris on Sunday afternoon at the OceanFirst Bank Center. The Colonials forced overtime with a late bucket in regulation and built a five-point lead in the extra period, but the Hawks responded to secure their first victory over RMU since 2009.
Monmouth ranks fourth nationally in blocks per game, averaging 7.4.
Three Hawks are averaging double figures this season, led by Spartalis (15.0), Justin Ray (13.8) and Jason Rivera-Torres (13.2) through five games.
Ray recorded 25 points against Syracuse and 18 points in the win over Robert Morris. The South Carolina native is 12-for-22 from beyond-the-arc this season.
Following an impressive two-game stretch, Spartalis was named CAA Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday.
