RICHMOND, Va. – Quarterback
Frankie Weaver has been named the CAA Offensive Player of the Week on Monday morning, marking the seventh time a Monmouth Hawk has earned the conference's weekly honor this season. In addition, Weaver was also named the National Freshman of the Week by Stats Perform FCS.
Weaver led the No. 12/12 Hawks to a dominant 63-19 victory over North Carolina A&T Saturday, finishing with a career best 428 passing yards and six passing touchdowns on 19 completions. His 428 yards through the air were the 10
th-most by an FCS quarterback this season, while his six touchdowns tied a Monmouth single-game record (
Derek Robertson, at Fordham, Sept. 6, 2025).
The redshirt freshman completed five throws of 26 or more yards, including touchdown strikes of 62, 53, and 71 yards, as the Hawks posted the most points and yards (696) of any CAA team this season. Behind Weaver's arm and command of the offense, Monmouth scored 21 points in each of the first three quarters – marking the highest three-quarter output in Monmouth's 33-season history.
Weaver and the Hawks (9-2, 6-1 CAA) have notched their sixth nine-win season in the program's 33-year history. Monmouth returns home to Kessler Stadium to take on UAlbany on Saturday, Nov. 22 at noon. The Senior Day and Fansgiving game will be broadcast live on FloCollege and SNY.
