West Long Branch, N.J. – Monmouth University Men's Lacrosse concluded its 2024 season Friday, falling to Drexel University, 6-4.
A low-scoring opening half saw Drexel score twice in the first five minutes before both teams pitched a shutout the rest of the way, hitting halftime with the Dragons up 2-0.
That held until a Monmouth offensive outburst in the third, scoring three times in 2:21 to take the 3-2 lead, with
Carter Malone beginning the run on his second goal of the season.
Brendan Dundas tied it, and
Connor Macrae buried a man-up goal to make it 3-2 MU. Drexel responded with four in a row to close the third, and took a 6-3 lead to the final quarter.
Matt Dollive got the Hawks within two at 6-4 in the fourth, but Monmouth drew no closer, falling by two.
