MONMOUTH FOOTBALL ANNOUNCES 2024 SCHEDULE

January 10, 2024

WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ - Monmouth University, in conjunction with the Coastal Athletic Association, has released the 2024 Monmouth Hawks Football Schedule.

Monmouth's schedule will feature 12 regular season games split in half by a single bye week and including six home games, a matchup with an FBS team, and three games against teams which made the NCAA FCS playoffs last season.

Season tickets (new and renewal) are on sale now at MonmouthHawks.com/Tickets or by calling 732-263-5735.

Monmouth will open its 2024 season on August 29 at Big Sky opponent Eastern Washington. The Hawks and Eagles will go head-to-head for the first time ever for a Thursday night game on the red turf at Roos Field in Cheney, Wa.

The Hawks will host Lafayette, the 2023 Patriot League Champions, in their home opener at Kessler Stadium on September 9.

Monmouth opens the CAA conference season in week three when it heads to Maine for a matchup against the Black Bears. The Hawks last made the trip up to Orono in 2022, Monmouth's first season as a member of the CAA. Callahan and Co. will make their second trip to the Sunshine State in as many seasons to take on FBS opponent FIU in Miami on September 21, as the two schools meet for the first time. The last non-conference opponent of the 2024 season will be Fordham at home during the final weekend of September, which marks the first of a four-game home stretch.

In October, three CAA opponents come to Kessler Stadium. Delaware plays its first ever contest in West Long Branch and will lead the Hawks into their bye week. Monmouth renews its rivalry with Bryant as they embark on their first season in the CAA after a short stint in the Big South. The Hawks lead the all-time series, 6-1, and the two schools last met as conference foes in 2012 as members of the Northeast Conference. A matchup with Towson rounds out the month as the Hawks look for their second straight victory over the Tigers. In last year's CAA opener, Monmouth defeated the Tigers in Maryland, 42-23.

The Hawks head back on the road to start the month of November with trips to Rhode Island (Nov. 2) and New Hampshire (Nov. 9). Monmouth faces nationally-ranked and FCS Quarterfinalist Villanova for Senior Day on November 16. In 2022, the Hawks won their first CAA win in program history – defeating the #10/9 Wildcats, 49-42. The regular season wraps up with a road contest at Stony Brook, who the Hawks have beaten in two straight seasons and own the upper hand in the all-time series, 7-4.
