PHILADELPHIA, PA – The Monmouth University women's tennis team battled hard before ultimately falling 4-3 to Drexel University in Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) action on Wednesday morning.Â

Drexel took an early lead in the match by capturing the doubles point.
Lana Brezanin and
Jordyn Pax continued their strong play at second doubles as they were down just 4-3 in a match that went unfinished as the Dragons won first and third doubles to secure the point.Â

The Hawks tied things up quickly as
Lenien Jamir put the first singles point on the board with a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Katerina Cummings at sixth singles.Â
After Drexel took a 2-1 lead with a victory at first singles, Pax tied the match with a 6-1, 6-4 victory over Aida Mendez at fifth singles. Brezanin earned a win at fourth singles by a 6-2, 6-3 score.

However, the Dragons claimed victory in the match with wins at second and third singles.
Lauren Landstrom and Isabel Cabrerizo split the first two sets at third singles in the deciding match before Cabrerizo took the third set for the win.Â
