WILLIAMSBURG, VA – The Monmouth University men's tennis team's postseason run came to an end at the hands of third-seeded Elon on Saturday afternoon at the Mackesy Tennis Center.
Monmouth, coming off an upset win of No. 2 seed William & Mary, looked to continue its winning ways and took an early lead after winning the doubles point with victories at the No. 2 and No. 3 spots.
Gabriel Busato and
Victor Castro took a 6-3 decision to move to 13-0 on the season before
Diego Laporta and
Lucca Silva clinched the point with a 6-4 win.
Elon responded to take control of the match in singles with Monmouth earning a point at No. 4 with
Alexander Zuckerman winning 6-2, 6-3.
