WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ – Despite multiple close matches, the Monmouth University men's tennis team fell to St. John's on Wednesday afternoon, 4-2, at the Outdoor Tennis Complex.
Victor Castro and
Gabriel Busato extended their doubles unbeaten streak at No. 2 with a 6-3 win, but the Hawks could not clinch the doubles point with St. John's taking the opening point in a tiebreak.
Dmitry Bezborodov won at No. 2 singles, and
Victor Castro's win at No. 3 singles extended his personal singles winning streak to seven.
The Hawks dropped to 14-5 on the season and return to action on Friday against Morgan State.
