WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ – Connor Macrae scored five times to lead the Monmouth University men's lacrosse team to a 9-7 victory over visiting Wagner on Tuesday afternoon at Kessler Stadium.
Monmouth took control with a four-goal run surrounding halftime with Macrae scoring twice along with
David Cormack and
Devin Pipher to make it 8-4 in favor of the Hawks midway through the third quarter.
Wagner scored two goals to make it a 9-7 game in the fourth quarter, but Monmouth held on for its first win of the season.
