BROOKVILLE, N.Y. – The Monmouth women's lacrosse team trailed in the second half before closing out the game on a 7-3 run to secure the 12-11 come-from-behind road victory over LIU on Saturday.

The Hawks (2-0, 0-0 MAAC) were down by three, 8-5, with just over six minutes left on the clock in the third quarter when
Mary Kate George scored to spark a 7-1 run that lasted until the 3:45 mark of the final frame. During that stretch, five different Hawks found the back of the net against the Sharks (0-5, 0-0 NEC).

Carli Mangum paced the offense with three goals, while George,
Cassidy Orban and
Liv Fanelli each found the back of the net twice.
Grace Curtin,
Hope Steuerwald and
Mya Brock all tallied a score for the Hawks as well.
