WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ – Monmouth University Men's Basketball got 16 points from
Myles Ruth, his fourth double-figure effort in five games, but fell Saturday afternoon to UNC Charlotte, 80-46.
MU scored the first five points of the second half, but six threes in the half propelled the 49ers to victory. Ruth had 10 points in the period for MU.
MU led on the first possession when
Jack Collins nailed a three, and trailed by just one at 13:49 of the first before a 7-0 49ers run made it 17-9. The teams traded baskets for several minutes before Charlotte ended the half on a 13-2 run, capped by an Igor Milicic half-court shot to make it 38-18 at the half.
