CHRIS SCHIFANO PROMOTED TO DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS

WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ – Monmouth University Men's Basketball and Head Coach King Rice announced officially Tuesday that Chris Schifano has been promoted to Director of Basketball Operations. Schifano had previously served as Special Assistant to the Head Coach, and is in his fourth season with the program.

"We're so excited to give Chris this opportunity, he's been with us and has definitely earned it," said Rice. "He's perfect for this position, he's a hard worker who learned from Coach Pitino at Louisville and has been great for our program. He's a local guy from Point Pleasant, he's been great with our guys and we're glad he's with us."

Schifano joined the Hawks for the 2019-20 season as a volunteer before being moved to the Special Assistant to the Head Coach role. In his fourth season with Monmouth, Schifano assists with all aspects of the program on a daily basis including film, practice planning, travel logistics, and more.

Schifano, who was on the sidelines for Monmouth's 2021 MAAC regular season title as well as last year's run to the conference finals, is a 2019 graduate of the University of Louisville, where he was a four-year manager under Rick Pitino and Chris Mack.
