WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ – Cade Stratton's goal with 40 seconds to play broke an 11-11 tie and sent the Monmouth University men's lacrosse team past Siena on Friday afternoon at Kessler Stadium.

The victory pushes Monmouth into the MAAC Tournament Semifinals where it will host No. 6 St. Bonaventure on Wednesday. 

Neither team led by more than two throughout the contest which featured six ties and seven lead changes. Facing a 6-4 deficit, Monmouth scored four consecutive goals surrounding halftime and never trailed after Mike McIntyre's goal put the Hawks ahead early in the third quarter. 

Stratton and Max Brooks each contributed hat tricks to lead Monmouth's offensive output in the victory.

- Connor Macrae and Dwayne Mattushik each scored a goal and added an assist. Macrae contributed both his points on the man-up unit.

- Zach Clemente scored his eighth goal of the season and the 37th of his career. 
- Clemente and Stratton are tied for ninth in program history with 45 career points.
- Mike McIntyre scored for the fourth consecutive game. He has seven goals this season. 
- Brock Anderson scored his third goal of the season and the 25th of his career. 
- Andrew Duswalt scored his fourth goal of 2021.
- David Cormack had two assists in the game. 
- Matt Soutar turned in another impressive performance at the faceoff X by winning 18-of-25. 
- Soutar also tied Garrett Klurman for the team lead with seven ground balls.
- Noah Lode recorded 12 saves in goal for Monmouth.
 - Dillon Smart led Monmouth with three caused turnovers and added five ground balls. Smart has 117 career ground balls, good for second in Monmouth history, and 43 caused turnovers, fourth in the Monmouth record book. 
- Monmouth went 2-for-3 in man-up situations.
