WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ – Cade Stratton's goal with 40 seconds to play broke an 11-11 tie and sent the Monmouth University men's lacrosse team past Siena on Friday afternoon at Kessler Stadium.
The victory pushes Monmouth into the MAAC Tournament Semifinals where it will host No. 6 St. Bonaventure on Wednesday.
Neither team led by more than two throughout the contest which featured six ties and seven lead changes. Facing a 6-4 deficit, Monmouth scored four consecutive goals surrounding halftime and never trailed after
Mike McIntyre's goal put the Hawks ahead early in the third quarter.
Stratton and
Max Brooks each contributed hat tricks to lead Monmouth's offensive output in the victory.
