MILFORD, CT – Sophomore
Erik Stevens (Annandale, NJ/North Hunterdon) led the Monmouth University Men's Golf team for the third consecutive tournament, finishing eighth individually as the Hawks placed eighth in the Sacred Heart Men's Spring Invite this weekend.
Stevens fired another under-par round in the weekend finale, shooting 70 on Monday with four birdies, three coming on the back nine in posting a 34 to move into the top-10.
Rob McHugh (Wayne, NJ/Wayne Hills) carded an even-par 72 on Sunday in the opening round, and ended up just outside the top-10 with a T11 finish. Freshman
Travis Dix (Howell, NJ/Howell) posted two rounds in the 70's to finish T45, while seniors
Ron Robinson (Hatfield, PA/North Penn) and
Jimmy Criscione (Paramus, NJ/Bergen Catholic) rounded out the Hawks group this weekend.

-Stevens posted an under-par round for the second week in a row.
-Stevens has placed inside the top-10 in three consecutive tournaments.
-Stevens now leads the Hawks in stroke average this season at 73.7.
-Robinson and Stevens are tied for the team lead in rounds played with seven.
-Monmouth shot 304-306 on the week, finishing eighth in the 11-team tournament.
-MU was third of six MAAC teams in the field.
