OCEAN CITY, MD – The Monmouth University Men's Golf team posted the lowest team round in the field Sunday, firing a 295, in finishing tied for fifth at the Battle at Rum Pointe this weekend in Ocean City, MD. Sophomore
Erik Stevens (Annandale, NJ/North Hunterdon) led the Hawks with a T9 finish, shooting three-over par for the tournament.
Stevens' final round 73 was enough to vault him to his second career top-10 finish, tying for ninth.
Ron Robinson (Hatfield, PA/North Penn) was one of three players in the field in the final round to shoot under par, firing a 71 to move him into a tie for 13
th.
Brendan Smith (Sayville, NY/Sayville) had a solid round Saturday, shooting 74 and finishing T32 for the tournament. Competing in just his second collegiate tournament,
Chase Scholze (Stuart, FL/Jensen Beach) shot 76 Sunday and placed T38, while
Matt McCormick (Shrewsbury, NJ/Christian Brothers Academy) posted a final round 75 to finish T45.
NOTES
-Monmouth's team score of 295 in the final round was the lowest in the field and one of three teams inside of 300 on the day.
-MU last broke 300 at Bucknell on October 14, 2019.

Ron Robinson's 71 and two-round score of 148 are his lowest of the season.
