WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ – Four Monmouth University Football players earned a total of five spots on the Eastern College Athletic Conference Division I FCS teams, the organization announced recently.
Offensive players
Lonnie Moore IV and
AJ Farris were selected as First Team All-ECAC members along with linebacker Eddie Hahn and punter
Ryan Kost. Moore was also a first team selection at kick returner.
Farris earns All-ECAC honors after another season of the center recording multiple All-American honors while starting every game along an experienced offensive line. The First Team All-Big South selection blocked for the conference's top scoring offense and six skill position players who earned Big South honors.
Moore earned All-ECAC honors at both the wide receiver and the kick returner slot after proving to be one of the most explosive players in the subdivision. The three-time all-conference selection had 73 receptions for 800 yards and six touchdowns while averaging 129.3 all-purpose yards per contest. He also notched 25.7 yards per kick return with a 91-yard return for a touchdown against Kennesaw State.
Hahn was second on the team in tackles with 65 takedowns and 45 solo stops en route to first team all-league honors as a fifth-year senior. He was second on the team in tackles for a loss with 8.5 and was a disrupted force on defense with seven passes defended and two sacks.
Kost earns all-region honors for the first time after his back to back all-conference performance. He averaged 44.3 yards per punt which led the conference and finished eighth in the NCAA. Kost had 12 punts of 50+ yards and 17 of his 40 punts were downed inside the opponent's 20-yard line.
The ECAC (Eastern College Athletic Conference) is an eighty-two-year-old organization with well over 200-member schools across all three NCAA Divisions - I, II and III. Teams that make up the conference hail from Virginia to Maine.
Monmouth finished the season 7-4 and had a league-high 16 All-Big South selections.
