A LOOK AT THE GAME:
- Monmouth gets back into conference play today after wrapping up the non-conference portion of the schedule against Princeton last week. The winner of today's game will remain in at least a tie for first place in the Big South as Campbell also brings a 2-0 conference mark into the contest.
- The Hawks come into today's game on the heels of a 31-28 setback to Princeton in a game that was 21-6 in favor of the Hawks in the third quarter. Monmouth is looking to avoid back to back losses for the first time since Nov 18 & 25, 2017. They are also looking to start the conference season 3-0 for the fifth consecutive season.
- Campbell has outscored its conference opponents 90-66 in two Big South wins this season and have won three consecutive games. The Camel offense ranks first in the league with 38.4 points per game and the defense is second allowing 26.2 ppg.

THE COACHING MATCHUP:
Kevin Callahan, the 2019 and 2020 Big South Coach of the Year, is in his 29th season at Monmouth as the Hawks' head coach. Callahan owns a 169-128 career coaching record, all with Monmouth. Coming into the season, Callahan's 166 victories ranks him 6th among active coaches in the Football Championship Subdivision. He is one of two FCS coaches with 150+ wins all at one institution and his 29 years as a head coach is the seventh most among active coaches. The only coach in Monmouth history, he has led the Blue & White to six conference championships, in 1996, 1998, 2003, 2004, 2006 and 2020-21 and its first at-large playoff berth in 2017. Callahan has earned conference coach of the year accolades in 1998, 2003, 2006, 2019 and 2020 and was named as an Eddie Robinson Award finalist in 2017 (10
th), 2019 (4
th) and 2020-21. Prior to arriving in West Long Branch, Callahan served as defensive coordinator at Colgate for eight seasons and at Wagner for three years. He began his coaching career as an assistant coach at Albany (1977-79) and Syracuse (1980) before becoming a Seahawk assistant in 1981.

Former Nebraska Cornhusker Hall of Famer and Carolina
Panther Mike Minter is in his ninth season as the head football coach at Campbell. Minter led the Camels through a successful transition into the Big South in 2018, having previously competed in the non-scholarship Pioneer Football League. In its first year in the Big South, Campbell finished 6-5 overall and 1-4 in league play, and improved its conference record to 3-3 in 2019. The Camels received notoriety for playing four FBS teams in a 21-day span in the abbreviated Fall 2020 schedule, falling to Georgia Southern, Coastal Carolina, Appalachian State and Wake Forest. Minter was a member of two national championship teams at Nebraska, playing both linebacker and safety for the Cornhuskers, as well as the Panthers' 2003 Super Bowl squad. He played 10 years in the NFL before joining the coaching ranks. He joined the Fighting Camel program after serving as assistant coach at Liberty in 2012 and Johnson C. Smith University in 2011.

INSIDE THE MONMOUTH-CAMPBELL SERIES
- Today's game marks the third time that the Hawks and Fighting Camels will meet, with Monmouth owning a 2-0 record. Monmouth is 1-0 at home and 1-0 on the road with the Hawks claiming the last game 47-10.
- The teams first met in 2018 with the Hawks riding Juwon Farri's 239 yards and two touchdowsn to a 38-21 victory. The Hawks ran for 298 yards and Reggie White Jr. became the Big South's leader in receptions with 225 as Justin Terry recorded a team-record seven pass breakups in the win.
- In 2019 the Hawks trailed 7-0 after the first quarter before outscoring Campbell 47-3 in the final three stanzas to earn their first Big South Championship. Pete Guerriero ran for 237 yards and had 303 all-purpose yards in the contest, finishing with four total touchdowns.

MONMOUTH AGAINST THE BIG SOUTH
- Since starting up Big South league play in 2014, Monmouth owns an 23-14 conference record, however is 19-2 since 2017.
- The Hawks own a 7-1 record against Gardner-Webb, 2-0 against Campbell, 5-1 against CSU and 2-4 vs Kennesaw State. The Hawks are also 1-0 against Hampton (3-0 overall) in conference competition. MU is 1-0 against North Alabama as well and has never faced North Carolina A&T.
- The Hawks won their first Big South Title in 2019 going undefeated for the first time since joining the league.
- MU was 0-3 against members of the Big South prior to joining the league, including dropping a home and home series with Coastal Carolina and a non-conference tilt with the Flames. The Hawks were also 4-2 against PC.
- With the win over Campbell in 2019, Monmouth won four consecutive Big South games to start Big South play for the first time in school history.

CALLAHAN LOOKING FOR 50th WIN SINCE JOINING BIG SOUTH

MOORE AND GREENE JR LEAD THE BIG SOUTH IN CAREER RECEPTIONS
Seniors
Lonnie Moore IV (180) and Terrance Greene Jr (126) are the lone active Big South teammates with 100 career receptions. Moore ranks 9th all-time in Big South history with 180 catches, and needs 20 to become just the fifth with 200 in a career. He became the 15th player with more than 2,000 receiving yards in Week 2 against Fordham, and ranks 10th in the league record book with 2,243. Greene sits at 1,717 career receiving yards and is 283 from the 2,000-yard milestone.

QUARTERBACKS UNDER ATTACK
Last weekend against Princeton Monmouth recorded five sacks. Junior
Lorenzo Hernandez recorded two while
DeAndre Clifton had 1.5. Linebacker
Ryan Moran registered a pair of half sacks, his first as a Hawk. As a team Monmouth ranks tied 20th in the nation in quarterback sacks, with 17 in six games or 2.83 per contest. Campbell's 3.60 sacks per game leads the Big South and is ranked fifth nationally.

MOORE JOINS ELITE COMPANY
Moore became just the third in school history and the 10th player in Big South history with 4,000 career all-purpose yards when he surpassed the milestone this past Saturday vs. Princeton. He enters this week with 4,072 in his career, which is 10th-most in the conference recordbook. Moore just missed his third career game with 200 all-purpose yards in Week 5 against Gardner-Webb, as he amassed 197 in the win over the Runnin' Bulldogs with 100 yards receiving, 50 yards rushing and 47 kickoff return yards.

Tony Muskett has thrown a touchdown pass in 10 consecutive contests, all 10 of the contests in which he has been a Hawk. His 20 career passing touchdowns ranks him eighth all-time and just two behind Brett Burke (2005-08) for seventh place.
