ROBINSON WINS AT BUCKNELL, HAWKS FINISH FOURTH

LEWISBURG, PA – Ron Robinson went wire-to-wire to win the Bucknell Invitational, shooting five-under par across three rounds and tying the program's single-round record, firing an opening six-under par 64. Monmouth's Men's Golf team also set a school record, shooting 276 in the opening round, four-under par as a group, to best the school mark by four shots en route to finishing one shot out of second place in the 15-team tournament, eventually placing fourth.

Robinson posted an outstanding weekend en route to victory, beginning with his school-record tying 64 on Sunday, shooting 32 on each side with seven birdies. He followed that with a 33 on the front to begin Round Two after an eagle on the ninth, and shot even-par 70 on the round. In the final 18 holes, Robinson was one-over after nine and held a one-shot lead headed to the 18th, which he birdied to secure the victory. Robinson went wire-to-wire, leading after every round.

Erik Stevens shot one-under in Sunday's round with three birdies, and followed that with a two-over 72 on Monday and a 73 Tuesday to finish tied for 17th in the tournament. Brendan Smith posted his best round in the final round with a two-under par 68 that included five birdies after posting a 71 in MU's record-breaking Sunday round to finish T23. Competing in just his second collegiate tournament, Colin McCullagh's best round came Monday with a 71, carding eight birdies on the weekend to finish in the top half of the field. Matt McCormick was a key contributor to Sunday's record round, shooting 72 with four birdies before finishing T39 in the tournament.
