SCOUTING THE SAINTS
Siena became the final MAAC team to kick off the season, doing so against MU. The defending MAAC regular season champs before the tournament was canceled, Siena returns Player of the Year Jalen Pickett and fellow First Teamer Manny Camper.

SIENA HEAD COACH CARMEN MACIARIELLO
Saints Head Coach Carmen Maciariello enters his second season on the Siena sidelines after spending a year as an assistant at his alma mater. He won 20 games in Year One, including the MAAC regular season title. 


MONMOUTH ON THE ROAD
The Hawks opened the season with five consecutive home games, and are making their first weekend appearance on the road this season after dropping yesterday's opener. Last year, MU won seven times away from home.

SIENA AT HOME
The Saints will play on campus this season, as opposed to at the Times Union Center in Albany. This will mark the first time MU will play on Siena's campus, and the first time since the 2014 CBI that the Saints will play there. They won yesterday's opener.

SERIES NOTES

-The teams met for the first time in 1979.
-Monmouth has lost just four times to Siena in the last 13 meetings.
-MU had not lost to Siena in the regular season since 2014 prior to 2019-20.


HAMMOND BREAKS A RECORD
Deion Hammond's first three-point attempt in Sunday's game at Siena made him the program record holder for the most threes attempted in program history. He recently passed Justin Robinson (664 att.) to move into a tie for first before passing Deki Delic, who held the record since he graduated 14 years ago at 667 attempts. 

MARTIN PLAYS IN GAME #100
Senior Melik Martin played in his 100th game against Siena Sunday, becoming the third Hawk this season and 45th in school history to reach the milestone. He joins classmates Deion Hammond and Marcus McClary, who played in their 100th in the first game vs. Canisius.
