MEN’S LACROSSE SINKS SIENA ON SENIOR DAY

WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ – The Monmouth University men's lacrosse team earned a convincing 12-6 victory over Siena on Senior Day at Kessler Stadium.

The Hawks knocked Siena out of postseason contention with the win and closed their season with victories in three of their final four games.

Siena scored the game's first goal, before Monmouth scored seven straight and 10 of the next 11 goals to build their largest lead of the game (10-2) early in the fourth quarter.

Noah Lode made 14 saves in the game, while Anthony Sardo scored a career-high four goals on the offensive end. Griffin Figel turned in a five-point performance with two goals and three assists in the win.

- Gordon Phillips, Griffin Figel, Shaun Napolitano, Jake Willson and Jake Henze played their final games in a Monmouth uniform.

NUMBERS CRUNCH
- Monmouth went 3-for-3 in man-up situations.
- Noah Lode made 14 saves, the second most for him in a game this season.
- Chris Hervada equaled his career and program record with six caused turnovers. Hervada also led Monmouth with seven ground balls in the game.
- Anthony Sardo scored a career-high four goals and became the third Monmouth player to score four times in one game this year. Sardo scored two man-up goals, giving him a team record 10 man-up goals in his career. Sardo finished his season with 11 goals.
- Griffin Figel set a new career high with five points on two goals and three assists.
- Figel ends his career third in team history with 86 points, on 46 goals and 40 assists. His 40 assists are the second-most in Monmouth history.
- Cade Stratton scored one goal in the game. Stratton and Figel led Monmouth with 12 goals apiece this season.
- Stratton also had two assists and he was second on the team with 16 point to Figel's 29.
- Max Brooks netted two goals and one assist. Brooks scored eight goals on the year.
- Zach Clemente scored one goal and had one assist in the game. Clemente finished the season with 10 goals.
- Rudy Beck scored his first goal of the season.
- David Cormack put in his third goal of 2019.
