MU COMPLETES WEEKEND HOMESTAND SATURDAY VS. RIDER

SCOUTING THE BRONCS
The preseason favorite in the MAAC, Rider is in first place at 7-1 in the league to this point. The Broncs put four platers in double figures, with four players within 1.2 points per game of each other. They are paced by Frederick Scott's 12.3 ppg, while Tyere Marshall leads the way on the glass with 6.4 boards per game.

RIDER HEAD COACH KEVIN BAGGETT
Kevin Baggett leads Rider and is in his seventh season on the Broncs' bench. He is a two-time MAAC Coach of the Year, including last year's winner, and has 119 wins to his credit while heading things up in Lawrenceville.

HAWKS AT HOME

Monmouth has won five in a row at home after dropping all three non-league home games. MU has held its opponent under 60 points in four of those five MAAC victories.

SERIES NOTES VS. RIDER
-Rider leads the all-time series 29-21.
-Since becoming MAAC foes, the teams have each won six times.
-The teams have met twice in the MAAC Tournament, with Rider winning in 2014 and MU winning in 2016.
-The combined score of the 12 MAAC games between the teams have totaled just a 17-point differential in favor of Monmouth.
-The teams split last year, with each home team winning.

SIX MAAC WINS
Today's game features the two teams with the most total wins in the MAAC. Rider leads the way with seven victories, while Monmouth was the first team to get to six via a victory over Siena on 1/31.

LOCKING DOWN AT HOME
Monmouth is giving up 57.2 points per game at home against MAAC opponents this season, holding both Saint Peter's and Manhattan under 50 points. Against the Jaspers, MU allowed just two two-point field goals in the opening half. Four of five MAAC teams to come into the OceanFirst Bank Center have failed to reach 60 points, with only Iona topping the mark.

SOME BIG STRETCHES VS. SIENA
Monmouth used the following stretches to overcome a deficit to beat Siena on January 31:
-Posted a 21-0 run between the two halves, including scoring the final 15 points of the first half to take a one-point lead.
-Held Siena off the scoreboard for 10:13 between the two halves, including the final 7:44 of the first.
-Did not allow a two-point field goal to Siena for a stretch of 21:40, from 12:40 of the first to 11:00 of the second.

BEST THREE-POINT SHOOTING PERCENTAGE SINCE JOINING THE MAAC
MU shot 63.6% (7-11) from three against Siena, Monmouth's best three-point shooting percentage since joining the MAAC and best since going 11-15 (73.3%) at Fairleigh Dickinson in King Rice's first season with the Hawks on February 8, 2012.

HAMMOND EFFECT
Deion Hammond has rocketed up to eighth in scoring in the league in MAAC games, netting 15.5 points per game in 10 contests. His 155 total points is the fifth most in the league in such games. Hammond has scored in double figures in six consecutive games, and is one point shy of leading MU in scoring.

CAREER BESTS FOR TRAORE AND CHAPUT
Despite playing different positions, Mustapha Traore and Sam Chaput tied for the team lead in assists against Siena, with each setting their career best in the contest with four helpers.

FLEXED TO ESPNU
It was announced on February 1 that Monmouth's February 22 contest against Canisius was flexed to ESPNU at 7:00 p.m. The Hawks will play 25 of 32 games on the ESPN family of networks this year, and this will mark MU's first home linear TV selection since the 2017 NIT against Ole Miss, a game that aired on ESPN2.
